Skin Stapler
A Skin Stapler is used to close wounds created on the skin. The SSB35W Skin Stapler is manufactured by the Chinese company GoldenStapler, recognized as one of the largest manufacturers of surgical staplers, and all of its products are FDA approved in the United States.
The Skin Stapler has a fully ergonomic design, making it very comfortable to hold and requiring minimal force from the surgeon to deploy the staples.
The stapler staples are made of stainless steel. They penetrate the dermal layer of the skin and bend into a rectangular shape. The staple leg height is 3.9 mm, the crown width is 6.9 mm, and the staple diameter is 0.57 mm. The Skin Stapler contains 35 staples, which is sufficient for closing a typical incision.
The most important feature of the GoldenStapler Skin Stapler is that after wound closure, there is no contact between the staple crown and the skin. Therefore, the staples do not apply pressure to the skin and consequently do not cause scarring. In general, the scar remaining after a wound is closed with staples is significantly less noticeable than with conventional sutures.
After the wound has healed, the staples are shaped into an M using the SSRM remover and removed from the wound. The remover extracts the staple vertically from the skin, which helps reduce patient discomfort.
