Antimicrobial Polyurethane Foam Dressing (Suprasorb P + PHMB)

In Lohmann & Rauscher Suprasorb polyurethane foam dressing (Suprasorb P + PHMB), the wound-contact layer has very fine pores. As a result, it can rapidly absorb wound exudate. Since PHMB contained in the foam acts both within the dressing and on the wound, Suprasorb polyurethane foam dressing is classified as a Class III medical device. This dressing can be used under compression bandaging.
The time required for wound healing is reduced by up to 99.99%.
1- Suprasorb polyurethane foam dressing has a broad-spectrum antimicrobial effect.

Its performance against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria is outstanding.
It reduces the risk of requiring repeated wound treatment.

This dressing also performs well against MRSA and VRE.
After approximately 6 hours, it causes a reduction in Pseudomonas aeruginosa (a Gram-negative bacterium) (initial value: CFU 6,350,000)
After approximately 6 hours, it causes a reduction in Staphylococcus aureus (a Gram-positive bacterium) (initial value: CFU 5,100,000)

2- The antimicrobial effect of Suprasorb polyurethane foam dressing acts rapidly and is also long-lasting.

The PHMB contained in the foam acts both within the dressing and on the wound
99.99% reduction in bacteria in just 6 hours
No need to change the dressing for up to 7 days

After 6 hours, Suprasorb polyurethane foam dressing (Suprasorb P + PHMB) is significantly more effective than silver-containing products.

3- The antimicrobial polyurethane foam dressing effectively absorbs wound exudate.

The dressing requires fewer changes, therefore significantly reducing costs.
This dressing can be used under compression bandaging.

The Suprasorb P + PHMB dressing has a very high Fluid Handling Capacity (FHC).

Suprasorb P + PHMB (Suprasorb Polyurethane Polyhexanide)

Care of superficial infected wounds or wounds at risk of infection with moderate to heavy exudate.

Indications:

Leg ulcers
Pressure ulcers
Diabetic ulcers
Surgical wounds

Wound healing phases:

Exudation phase
Granulation phase
Epithelialization phase
Effectively absorbs wound exudate.
Has an excellent antimicrobial effect.
Acts rapidly and has a long-lasting effect.
The wound-contact layer contains very fine pores.
The polyurethane layer is impermeable to bacteria and water.
Suprasorb polyurethane foam dressing (Suprasorb P + PHMB) can be used as a secondary dressing for the antimicrobial treatment of infected wounds and wounds at risk of infection.
When Suprasorb polyurethane foam dressing is dry, it can easily be cut to the desired size.
