Reinforced Calcium Alginate Dressing (Suprasorb A Pro)

Suprasorb A Pro reinforced calcium alginate dressing is a new generation of calcium alginate dressings from Lohmann & Rauscher. In addition to calcium alginate fibers, Suprasorb A Pro contains cellulose fibers that provide a stabilizing effect and significantly improve the performance of this type of dressing. Absorption of wound exudate causes sodium ions to exchange with calcium ions, resulting in gel formation. This gel traps bacteria and cellular debris while creating a moist wound environment.

When Suprasorb A Pro reinforced calcium alginate dressing comes into contact with wound exudate, it forms a gel that keeps the wound environment moist and supports autolytic debridement.

For the care of superficial and deep acute and chronic wounds with high levels of exudate.

Indications:

Arterial ulcers
Venous ulcers
Diabetic ulcers
Pressure ulcers
Surgical wounds
Skin graft donor and recipient sites

Wound healing phases:

Exudation phase
Granulation phase
Has a very high capacity for absorbing and retaining wound exudate.
Protects the wound edges.
Supports faster wound healing through autolytic debridement.
By forming a gel at the wound site, it traps bacteria and cellular debris.
Can be removed in one piece.
Has a hemostatic effect.
Dressing changes should be performed according to the level of wound exudate, with a maximum wear time of 7 days.
The dressing can be cut to the size of the wound before application.
Depending on the amount of wound exudate, an appropriate secondary dressing such as Suprasorb P Sensitive can be applied over the dressing.
This dressing can be used under compression bandaging.
