In addition to calcium alginate and silver alginate fibers, it also contains cellulose fibers, which provide a stabilizing effect and significantly improve the performance of this type of dressing.
The cellulose fibers effectively manage wound exudate and support faster wound healing and autolytic debridement. The dressing can also be removed in one piece, making it very easy to use and ensuring safe removal.
Suprasorb Antibacterial Silver Calcium Alginate Dressing (Suprasorb A + Ag Pro) reduces bacteria on the wound surface and is therefore particularly suitable for infected wounds or wounds at risk of infection, including those involving MRSA and VRE.
In this dressing, absorption of wound exudate causes sodium ions to exchange with calcium ions, resulting in gel formation. This gel traps bacteria and cellular debris while creating a moist wound environment. Silver ions are also released at the wound site, providing antibacterial properties.
