Transverse Linear Stapler
The transverse linear stapler is used for the reconstruction of various organs in the gastrointestinal tract and for tissue anastomosis. The most important feature of the transverse stapler is its small anvil nose, which facilitates vertical access to the lower pelvis. The surgeon can also operate the stapler with only one hand.
The transverse linear stapler is used in colorectal, intestinal, gastric, and thoracic surgery and can be loaded with three different cartridges. With each staple firing, the surgeon receives both audible and tactile feedback to confirm proper operation.
The jaws of the stapler close in parallel, resulting in proper staple formation and height. After stapling, the tissue is cut bilaterally to help ensure a successful anastomosis.
